These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are a delicious and easy-to-make treat perfect for a quick breakfast or a tasty snack. Flaky croissants are filled with layers of savory deli ham, gooey melted cheese, and a flavorful mayonnaise and stoneground mustard spread. Baked to perfection, these croissants are warm, cheesy, and oh-so-satisfying.

Ingredients

Croissants:

  • Sliced in half

Deli Ham:

  • Thinly sliced (black forest ham is recommended)

Cheese:

  • Thinly sliced Muenster cheese (or substitute with Havarti, Cheddar, Swiss, etc.)

Mayonnaise Mixture:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Stoneground mustard, to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the Mayonnaise Mixture: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, stoneground mustard, and chopped fresh chives. Spread this mixture on the bottom half of each croissant.
  3. Assemble the Croissants: Layer a slice of cheese, deli ham, and another slice of cheese on top of the mayonnaise-coated croissant bottoms. Place the croissant tops over the fillings.
  4. Bake: Arrange the prepared croissants on a baking sheet. Cover with foil and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the croissants are warmed through. Remove the foil for the last few minutes to crisp the tops.
  5. Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and serve hot.
