  • ¼ cup green bell pepper (finely chopped)

Seasonings and Spices:

  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 12 green chillies (finely chopped, adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
  • ¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • ½ to ¾ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

Additional:

  • ¼ cup cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 1 to cup water (to make batter)
  • oil for cooking (as required)

Instructions

  1. Prep work: In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajwain, hing, and salt. Add water gradually, mixing well to form a smooth batter. Add in the chopped vegetables and cilantro, ensuring even distribution.
  2. Cooking the Chilla: Heat a pan on medium heat, pour a ladle of batter and spread it thinly. Drizzle oil around the edges, cover, and cook for 1-2 minutes. Flip the chilla, press down, and cook until golden brown spots appear. Repeat for the remaining batter.
