Delight in this elegant Brie, Apple, and Honey Crostini recipe featuring creamy melted brie, sweet apple butter, crisp apple slices, and crunchy candied pecans drizzled with honey on toasted baguette slices—perfect as a sophisticated appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crostini Base

  • 1 baguette, cut into ½-inch slices
  • 1 jar apple butter (about 12 teaspoons per slice)
  • 6 ounces brie, sliced thin (Murray’s brie recommended)

For the Topping

  • 2 large apples, thinly sliced
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup candied pecans, chopped
  • Honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baguette: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread about 1–2 teaspoons of apple butter on one side of each baguette slice. Arrange the slices on a large baking sheet in a single layer to ensure even toasting.
  2. Add Brie and Bake: Place a thin slice of brie on top of each apple-buttered baguette slice. Bake in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes or until the brie melts and starts to bubble slightly, creating a creamy texture.
  3. Prepare the Apples: While the crostini bake, core and thinly slice the apples. Toss the slices gently with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to prevent them from browning and to add a fresh zing.
  4. Assemble the Crostini: Remove the baked crostini from the oven. Top each slice with a few apple slices, sprinkle chopped candied pecans evenly over them, and finish with a generous drizzle of honey for added sweetness and shine.
  5. Serve: Serve the crostini immediately while warm to enjoy the perfect contrast of creamy brie, crisp apple, sweet honey, and crunchy pecans.

Notes

  • Use fresh, crisp apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for the best texture and flavor contrast.
  • Thinly slice the brie and apples for easier melting and balanced bites.
  • To make your own candied pecans, toss pecans in melted butter and brown sugar, then bake until caramelized.
  • If you prefer a vegan version, substitute brie with a vegan cheese alternative and honey with maple syrup.
  • Serve immediately; the crostini are best enjoyed warm as the brie tends to harden when cooled.
