Noodles & Sauce

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and dried thyme if using. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and thoroughly cooked through. Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juices.
  3. Make the Buttered Noodles: In the same skillet, add the butter and remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Melt the butter over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to coat them evenly in the buttery garlic sauce.
  4. Combine and Serve: Transfer the buttery noodles onto plates and arrange the sliced chicken on top or alongside. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
