Bacon:
Vegetable Oil Mixture:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
Collard Greens:
- 1 pound collard greens, cut into 2-inch chunks
Broth and Seasoning:
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
