For the Cornflake Crack:
- 1/2 cup Salted Butter
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- 3 cups Cornflakes Cereal (NOT heaping)
For the Chocolate Coating:
- 12 ounces Chocolate
- Maldon Sea Salt Flakes (optional)
- Prepare the Cornflake Crack: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Spread the cornflakes evenly on the sheet.
- Melt Butter and Sugar: In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until smooth and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Coat Cornflakes: Pour the butter-sugar mixture over the cornflakes, stirring gently to coat evenly. Shape into a rectangle.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F for 9-12 minutes, pressing the edges into the center halfway through.
- Cool and Break: Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces.
- Chocolate Coating: Melt chocolate, dip each piece of cornflake crack, and lay on parchment to set.
Notes
- Baking the toffee-coated cornflakes helps caramelize the mixture for a richer flavor.
- For a salty-sweet twist, sprinkle Maldon sea salt flakes over the chocolate-coated pieces.
