Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 6 large eggs, scrambled
  • 8 ounces ground pork sausage, cooked
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup (113 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Rolls, split in half horizontally

Cowboy Butter

  • 1 recipe cowboy butter, melted (approximately 6 tablespoons, divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 7×11-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Arrange rolls bottom halves: Split your King’s Hawaiian Rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves into the prepared baking dish in an even layer.
  3. Brush with cowboy butter: Pour about 2 tablespoons of melted cowboy butter evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls to enhance flavor and moisture.
  4. Add breakfast toppings: Layer scrambled eggs evenly over the buttered rolls, followed by the cooked ground pork sausage, crumbled bacon, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese to build a delicious and hearty filling.
  5. Top with rolls and butter: Place the top halves of the rolls evenly over the layered fillings. Brush the tops of the rolls with an additional 2 tablespoons of melted cowboy butter to promote browning and flavor.
  6. Cover and bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is thoroughly melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove foil and finish baking: Remove the foil carefully and continue baking for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders are golden brown and slightly crisp.
  8. Serve hot: Remove the sliders from the oven. Slice carefully into individual servings. Brush with any remaining melted cowboy butter or serve it on the side for dipping to maximize flavor and moisture.

Notes

  • For the cowboy butter, traditional recipes often include butter, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs—adjust flavors to preference.
  • You can substitute ground pork sausage for turkey sausage for a leaner version.
  • Adding diced bell peppers or onions to the eggs before scrambling can add extra flavor and vegetables.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting and texture.
  • Prepare the sliders in advance and refrigerate them assembled; just add additional baking time if baking from cold.
  • Serve freshly baked to enjoy the warm, melty texture and buttery rolls.
