Delightfully sweet and tangy Deviled Strawberries are a creative twist on classic deviled appetizers, featuring fresh strawberries filled with a zesty whipped cream cheese mixture, topped with crunchy graham cracker crumbs and colorful sprinkles. This no-cook dessert is perfect for parties, gatherings, or a fun family treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 12 medium to large strawberries

Filling

  • 12 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly. Using a sharp paring knife, slice each strawberry in half lengthwise, leaving the stems attached for presentation.
  2. Score the Center: With the same paring knife, lightly score a triangle shape in the center of each strawberry half. This will serve as a guide for hollowing out the center.
  3. Hollow the Strawberries: Using a small spoon or melon baller, gently remove a small portion from inside the scored triangle to create space for the filling.
  4. Drain Strawberries: Place the prepared strawberry halves cut-side down on paper towels and let them drain for a couple of minutes to remove excess moisture.
  5. Arrange Strawberries: Lay the strawberry halves on a deviled egg platter or serving dish, cut side up, ready for stuffing.
  6. Make Filling: In a medium or large bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is very smooth and creamy.
  7. Fill Strawberries: Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large tip, or use a large resealable plastic bag with a small corner cut off. Pipe the filling generously into the hollowed centers of each strawberry half.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle each deviled strawberry with graham cracker crumbs and colorful sprinkles. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Chilling the cream cheese before mixing helps achieve a smoother filling.
  • Use fresh, firm strawberries for best results to avoid sogginess.
  • These can be made a few hours ahead and refrigerated, but add garnishes just before serving to maintain crispness.
  • For an adult twist, a small drizzle of balsamic glaze pairs well with these dessert bites.
