Ingredients

Scale

Eggs and Filling

  • 12 hard-cooked eggs, peeled
  • 45 ml mayonnaise
  • 15 ml capers, finely chopped
  • 15 ml fresh dill, chopped
  • 15 ml fresh chives, chopped
  • 10 ml grainy mustard

Bacon

  • 6 slices double-smoked bacon, rind removed and halved

Assembly

  • 3 leaves iceberg or leaf lettuce
  • 12 slices cocktail tomatoes
  • 12 cocktail picks
  • Chopped fresh dill and everything bagel seasoning for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the eggs: Place eggs in the bottom of a small pot and cover with cold water. Heat until boiling, then remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 9 minutes. Immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain, peel, and set aside.
  2. Cook the bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat and cool.
  3. Prepare devilled egg filling: Slice each egg in half lengthwise and gently remove yolks into a bowl. Add mayonnaise, finely chopped capers, dill, chives, and grainy mustard. Mash ingredients together until well combined.
  4. Stuff egg whites: Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture, dividing it equally among all halves.
  5. Assemble sliders: Place a cooked bacon slice on top of 12 stuffed egg halves, breaking the bacon to fit if necessary. Add a small piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato over the bacon.
  6. Complete sliders: Top each slider with the remaining stuffed egg halves and secure with a cocktail pick.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the sliders with chopped fresh dill and everything bagel seasoning just before serving for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

  • For perfectly hard-cooked eggs, avoid overcooking by sticking to the 9-minute resting time in hot water.
  • Use double-smoked bacon for a rich, smoky flavor that complements the creamy devilled eggs.
  • The dill and chives can be adjusted to taste or substituted with other fresh herbs like parsley or tarragon.
  • Everything bagel seasoning adds a great texture and taste but can be omitted for a milder flavor.
  • These sliders are ideal for parties or as a sophisticated finger food at brunch.
