These Grilled Soy Garlic Chicken Thighs are a delicious and flavorful dish perfect for a summer barbecue or weeknight dinner. The marinade is a perfect balance of salty soy sauce, sweet honey, and aromatic garlic, creating a mouthwatering glaze for the tender chicken thighs. Finish them off with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for extra crunch and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade:

  • 3 oz gluten-free soy sauce (or tamari sauce)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 large cloves of garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1/3 cup honey

Additional:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs (56 chicken thighs)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a small measuring cup, combine soy sauce, avocado oil, minced garlic, and honey. Mix well.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag or dish. Pour 3-3.5 ounces of marinade over the chicken, reserving the rest. Marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Prep Grill: Preheat grill to 350-375°F. Grill chicken for 5 minutes on each side.
  4. Glaze Chicken: Baste chicken with reserved marinade and grill for an additional 5-8 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove chicken from grill, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overheat the grill to prevent charring the honey in the marinade.
  • Allow the chicken to rest before serving to retain juices and tenderness.
