The Hibiscus Rose Latte is a beautifully floral and comforting caffeine-free drink that blends the summery flavor of rose and hibiscus with warm fall spices like cinnamon and ginger. Creamy frothed oat milk complements the vibrant, pink hibiscus rose syrup for a soothing latte perfect for cozy moments.

Ingredients

Scale

Hibiscus Rose Syrup

  • 1 tbsp dried hibiscus petals
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 10g fresh ginger, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 4 pcs dried small edible rose petals
  • 2 drops rose water
  • 2g beetroot powder
  • 60ml boiling water
  • 2 tsp agave syrup

Latte

  • 300ml oat milk (hot and frothed; 150ml per cup)
  • 25g hibiscus rose syrup per cup
  • 2 dried rose petals crushed for decoration (optional; 1 rose per cup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Hibiscus Rose Syrup: Boil 60ml of water, then pour it over the dried hibiscus petals, cinnamon powder, cubed fresh ginger, dried small edible roses, rose water drops, and beetroot powder. Let this mixture steep for 15 to 20 minutes to extract all the floral and spicy flavors.
  2. Strain the Syrup: After steeping, strain the mixture carefully to remove all solids, leaving you with a vibrant pink syrup. Stir in 2 teaspoons of agave syrup to sweeten it, adjusting sweetness as desired or omit it for an unsweetened version.
  3. Froth the Milk: Heat oat milk and froth it until creamy and light. Note that oat milk may not produce the thickest foam but still creates a lovely texture.
  4. Assemble the Latte: Pour 25g of the hibiscus rose syrup into each cup, then slowly add 150ml of the hot frothed oat milk, gently mixing to combine the flavors.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, decorate each cup with crushed dried rose petals for an elegant, floral presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy the harmonious blend of floral and warm spice flavors.

Notes

  • Dried rose petals in the syrup and as decoration are optional but add a lovely floral aroma and aesthetic.
  • Any type of milk can be used, but oat milk complements the flavors well. The foam quality may vary with different milk choices.
  • The syrup is naturally caffeine-free, making this an excellent option for a soothing evening drink.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference, or omit agave syrup for a less sweet latte.
  • Steeping time can be extended slightly for a more intense flavor but avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
