Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 12 oz Broccoli Florets, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Sesame Seeds, for garnish
  • Green Onion, for garnish

Proteins

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (97/3 fat ratio)

Oils

  • 1 Tbsp (16g) Olive Oil, divided
  • 1 Tbsp (16g) Toasted Sesame Oil

Sauces & Sweeteners

  • 1/4 C (60g) Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp (42g) Honey
  • 23 Tbsp (30-45g) Sriracha, adjust to spice preference
  • 2 Tbsp (30g) Soy Sauce

Spices

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger

Instructions

  1. Cook the Broccoli: Heat 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and let them cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes to develop some browning on one side. Stir and continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the broccoli turns a vibrant dark green. Transfer the broccoli to a plate and set aside.
  2. Brown the Ground Chicken: Add the remaining 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil to the same skillet. Place the ground chicken in the skillet and cook until browned on both sides. Use a spatula to mince the meat and continue to cook until fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Prepare and Add Sauce: While the chicken cooks, combine the sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger in a bowl. Pour this sauce mixture into the skillet with the cooked chicken. Stir and cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken well, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Combine Broccoli and Garnish: Once the sauce has thickened, return the cooked broccoli to the skillet. Stir everything together to evenly coat the broccoli with the sauce and heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to your preferred spice level.
  • Use ground chicken with low fat content (97/3) for a leaner dish.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking broccoli to achieve proper browning.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
