Ingredients

Scale

Butter Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated parmesan
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Italian Sliders

  • 1 (12 oz) package Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices Colby Jack cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 pound mixed Italian meats (8 oz turkey, 4 oz genoa salami, 4 oz pepperoni)

Grinder Salad

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
  • ⅓ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 (8 oz) bag shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Butter Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, parmesan, parsley, basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until fully blended and set aside.
  2. Preheat Oven and Prep Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Slice the full package of 12 Hawaiian rolls horizontally into two slabs without separating the individual rolls. Place the bottom slab evenly in the greased baking dish. Layer the bottom with Colby Jack and provolone cheese slices. Then evenly layer the mixed Italian meats on top of the cheeses. Place the top slab of rolls over the meat layer.
  4. Brush with Butter Sauce: Spoon and evenly spread the prepared butter sauce over the top of the rolls to ensure ample flavor and moisture.
  5. Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meat is heated through and the cheese has melted beautifully.
  6. Prepare Grinder Salad: While the sliders are baking, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in pepperoncini peppers, sliced red onion, and shredded lettuce until everything is fully coated with the dressing. Set aside.
  7. Serve: Carefully remove the top slab of rolls once baked. Layer the prepared grinder salad evenly over the meat and cheese layer. Replace the top slab of rolls. Cut the assembled sandwiches into individual sliders and serve immediately for best enjoyment.

Notes

  • If you want leftovers, serve the grinder salad on the side and let each person add their own salad topping to their individual sandwich. Store leftover sandwiches and salad separately to maintain freshness.
  • Sliders keep well refrigerated for up to 2 days and can be frozen for up to 6 months.
  • To reheat frozen sliders, thaw completely then bake until warmed through.
  • Use a sharp serrated knife to slice the rolls cleanly without tearing.
  • You can substitute meats according to preference, ensuring a total weight of about 1 pound for balance.
