Ingredients

Scale

Cheeses

  • 1 lb Brie cheese wheel
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese (to shape with cookie cutters into a star and Christmas tree)
  • 8 oz Cheddar cheese
  • String cheese (for pepperoni rolls; quantity as needed)

Meats

  • 1 lb Prosciutto crudo slices (enough for rolling to make Santa’s hat)
  • 8 oz Pepperoni slices (and Salami slices for decorating and wrapping cheese sticks)

Accompaniments

  • Crackers (quantity as desired)
  • Pretzels (quantity as desired)
  • Dips or Jam (quantity as desired)
  • Large black olives (quantity as desired)
  • Fruits and berries (quantity as desired)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Santa head: Gently cut the mustache, beard, and hat rim shapes into the top of the round Brie cheese wheel, which can be baked beforehand or served at room temperature.
  2. Add the hat: Roll slices of prosciutto crudo and arrange them on top of the Brie around the hat rim area to form Santa’s iconic hat.
  3. Add the star tip: Using Swiss cheese shaped with a cookie cutter, place a small star at the tip of the prosciutto hat to complete Santa’s hat decoration.
  4. Arrange the rest of the board: Use cookie cutters to shape additional Swiss cheese pieces into Christmas themes like stars and trees. Wrap string cheese sticks with pepperoni or salami slices. Arrange all cheeses, meats, crackers, large black olives, pretzels, fruits, berries, dips, and jams creatively around the centerpiece Santa head cheese.
  5. Serve: Present the cheese board to guests for self-serving alongside dips, jams, and nuts for added variety and texture.

Notes

  • You can bake the Brie cheese wheel slightly to soften it if desired, but it also works well at room temperature for easier cutting and serving.
  • Use cookie cutters to create festive shapes from the Swiss and Cheddar cheeses to enhance the holiday theme.
  • Feel free to add nuts or different seasonal fruits to complement the flavors and textures of the board.
  • Make sure to keep the cheese board refrigerated until shortly before serving to maintain freshness.
  • This cheese board serves approximately 12 people as an appetizer or party snack.
