Enjoy a refreshing Watermelon Martini with this simple recipe. Made with fresh watermelon juice, vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice, and a touch of simple syrup, this cocktail is perfect for summer gatherings or just relaxing at home.

Ingredients

Scale

For Watermelon Juice:

  • 1/2 cup seedless chopped watermelon (chilled) or 1/4 cup watermelon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

For Martini:

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (see recipe below)
  • Watermelon wedge, cubes or balls, and mint leaves to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make Watermelon Juice: Put watermelon cubes into a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids.
  2. Use or store: If not using immediately, store in an airtight container or pitcher in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
  3. Prep: Chill a martini glass in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Mix Martini: Add watermelon juice, vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 40 seconds.
  5. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish and serve.
  6. To Make Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves (about 2 minutes). Cool, then transfer to a small container and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup.
  • For a mocktail version, omit the vodka and orange liqueur.
